U4, Pumpkin Cookies, and Stalker

Well, it seems my new thing is pumpkin cookies. BUT I can only make them in Logan. They dont turn out right in Poky. Anyways one can of pumpkin makes a TON of cookies! I had to make a lot for institute, but baked more than I needed. So, I am grateful for the boys in U4. Not only are they awesome, but they will eat my cookies. Then my stalker, stalked me today...again. Im ready for school to be over. Hopefully I never see him again, even though he thinks God wants us to get married... haha anyways Jesus loves you all =)

Coconut Passion & Tender Mercies

So, Im stressed, Im really stressed. Im at the point where I feel like sleep is a waste of 8 good hours I should use to study. I found something that helps me though. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Victoria Secret, and their secret garden body spray collection.

There has been a new addition to the garden. Its called coconut passion. It smells like warm vanilla and coconut. So basically it smells amazing. Im thinking its even better than pure seduction ( the most popular BY FAR of the garden collection.) Anyways, when Im stressed I spray a little coconut passion and I relax. Its nice =) Helps me clear my mind, and get back to the books. Its almost like vicks... another calmer of mine haha... ya im kinda weird. =)

So I was sitting here in the TSC being really stressed and working on my English paper, when I saw a familiar face. PATRICK! Really, who doenst know Patrick? He is a young man who works with special needs who works in the HUB. He is everyones friend. I looked up and smiled at him. He said, " well hello friend!." I couldnt help but laugh. He came over, moved my feet off a chair, and sat down. He was asking me how I was, and thats about all of a conversation that he knows how to handle. So I asked the little prankster if he was staying out of trouble. For the first time I saw him get serious. He said,"THEY ARE KEEPING ME TO BUSY FOR TROUBLE!" haha. We then talked about his summer. He is going to Chicago and he promised me that he would get a hot dog haha. He then told me thanks and said, " dont try to study too hard! " Patrick brought a little ray of sunshine into my day. It was dearly needed. So I thank the Lord, for sending me his tender little mercies, this time by the form of an angel, when my sky is grey.

Stayin alive... kinda... =/

Well.... Its dead week. Let me tell ya, I already feel dead. Im seriously stressing this one out. I have a research paper due tomorrow for revising, A lifespan paper about dying and the physiological affects, and a 60 page chapter to read about old people.The most stressful part is math. Oh how I hate math... with a passion! My problem is I can remember something for a test, then forget most of it. Trying to do some of these practice finals are making no sense. I basically live at the math lab.

On a brighter side, institute was amazing today! Then again the book of Moroni is pretty amazing within itself. Brother Larson did this thing with random numbers on a ball. When the ball was thrown to you, you looked to see what number your right thumb landed on.That number sent us somewhere in Moroni and then you had to testify of what was taught. After that you had to throw the ball to two other people ( ones who dont really comment ) and get 2 other whitenesses. Sure it sounds a little like seminary, but it was a powerful lesson. Brother Larsen has a different approach to teaching. It seems to work for me. I love it =)

After school I'm going home, and working as a developmental therapist. I hope I can get the hang of things. Kinda hoping to get some shadowing hours in also. We will see what happens. Its weird to think that I'm almost done with my first year of college. Im not ready to leave. Might sound weird, but I wish it would last a little longer. None of this final stuff. Iv made a lot of new friends within a month, and we will probably never see each other again! haha anyways... thats life right now. I deactivated my FB again, so yep... comment or text =) Jesus loves you!

I love to see the temple... Ill go inside someday.

So, part of the reason I came to USU, was the Logan temple. It is so beautiful, and has some amazing history/stories. Its so close to campus too! I thought I was going to be able to go all the time! I was able to attend the IF temple regularly, because of their amazing walk in system. Logan, however, does not have a walk in system. The lines open at 11:30, and I can tell you what goes down. You call the temple and they lady tells you the lines are all full, and to call back. You keep calling because if you dont get in by noon all the spots are full. Thats only thirty minutes! So you keep calling, and the lady keeps getting irritated, because you and many others keep calling. Well I have my fingers crossed because for the last 2 months I havent been able to get a spot. I think I'll write a letter or something. Its sad that people cant go to the temple because all the " spots " are full. If they had earlier hours I would totally take advantage of that! Humm we will see! Because of that I can see the temple... someday ill get a spot, and i can go inside haha. Pray with me! =)

So I realized that I was spending way too much time on good ole' Facebook. Not to mention I have many exams this week, and FB was too much of a temptation. FB however, really is evil. I keep getting emails of them reminding me that I can come back at anytime. They send me pictures that I was tagged in and say " Kevin misses you" Or the name of whoever tagged me in their photo haha. Its not as easy as I thought it would be. Sometimes I just want to go on, and waste some time. Pathetic right? Yep, I need a life! Ill probably get back, but I need some rehab time. So, if I miss your birthday, I'm sorry... I had no way of knowing it was your birthday... =) Anyways, that is the story! Text me haha

It's a Wedding!

February 18th the most amazing people ever got married! Haha, but for real! Mary is a sister missionary in the Pocatello, Idaho mission. I worked with for about a year. She is an amazing teacher, and I looked up to her a lot ( still do ) . I learned SO much from her. I learned how to become closer to the spirit when teaching, and how to help others recognize that spirit. Really, she trained me, without knowing she was training haha. I REALLY wanted her to marry my brother Josh, but I knew she was too hardcore for him. So, I got her reacquainted with one of my friends Brandon. He took us skeet shooting , and let us shoot his bow ( which I'm REALLY bad at ).




That trip was amazing! She came back to see a family she converted get sealed in the temple. It was a CRAZY awesome rode trip! And... I would keep bring up the subject of Brandon =) haha



Well, when Mary was coming to BYU-I from Rhode Island, Brandon few there to help her drive back! He said, it wasnt anything... but we all knew haha =) Hahah I knew it! They were going to get married =) I am so happy for them! They are both such amazing examples of Christ! They stupendous! Congratulations Mary and Brandon!


P.S- Everything happens for a reason. If Tyler Davis wouldnt of apologized to me, I never would of met Brandon, and never would of taken Mary to see him! Crazy huh? Thanks Ty!

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission!!!

My twin Andrew Bringhurst finally got his mission call! Andrew and I have been friends for ever, and he has blessed my life tremendously. Andrew spent a year in Italy for foreign exchange during his sophomore year of high school, and is fluent in Italian. Andrew has become such an amazing young man, who is devoted to serving the lord. Not only did he let me take his mission photos, but he let me be there for the opening of his call. I dont think there was a dry eye in the room, because we all know how badly he wanted to go. When we heard that he was going to serve in the Rome, Italy mission, i think we all just cried in joy! He is going to be a powerhouse in the Rome mission for sure! Im so proud of you Andrew ( and extremely jealous haha )!

HAPPY WORLD UKULELE DAY!

February 2nd is now the official world ukulele day! What a grand day! I cant even begin describe how much the ukulele has impacted me. Sounds cheesy, but it has! So to all my ukulele players out there, HAPPY UKE DAY!

Okay, so its freezing! Is it weird that when you wake up you think," Huh, it need to rise 27 degrees to be above freezing!". Now, thats just crazy! Well I hope that groundhog is right, and spring will come soon!

But Baby....ITS COLD OUTSIDE!

So, Utah State really is a great school. The campus is beautiful, and the professors are helpful... BUT the winter ... yep that's right... winter is horrid! Every morning its in the negatives or close to it. Why did I decide to take 7:30 AM classes? I have no idea! If its not that cold the wind will rip through any jacket you have on and make you want to die. I know I sound really dramatic right now, but Iv been home for 10 min and my face is still numb! Not cool... actually its too cool to be cool =) I just think its funny when its 30 degrees and everyone is just wearing a sweater or long sleeved shirt around campus... because, 30 degrees is WARM!


Aside from the cold,this week is CRAZY! I have 3 exams on Thursday! I know.. kill me now haha. Hoping I will do okay! Im only worried about my Math, and Marriage/Family relationships class. My Disabilities rehab class will be easy =) But ya! Then in the next 2 weeks I have 4 papers to write! I think Im gonna live in the library or something! Life is so crazy! Trying to figure things out, and all that! Trying to find a place to live during the summer, or trying to find a job, or just trying to get everything done.... oh ya... and boys...haha. Its just crazy right now! Although I made a goal to be in bed by 11 pm every night. Jess has totally held me to it! It seems like we go to bed even earlier now. Like last night I was in bed by 10:30. Yep thats right, Im a CRAZY college student! haha Keep it classy people, keep it classy.

I started this 3 years ago... i kinda added to it when i thought of something... hahaha some are REALLY funny... haha after going through them i can remember why its is on the list... hahaha oh man.

1. Wearing short shorts with uggs or boots.... isnt that pointless?

I Love to see the Temple

Well about a month ago my YW president asked me if i knew a girl named Sara. Well i knew of her but i didnt really know her. She was a Sophomore, and we had totally different social groups. But i did do her hair for a play. Well it turned out that she was currently taking the missionary discussions. I thought to myself, yep just another girl that wants to get baptized so some boy will like her ,and when he leaves her she will wont have anything to do with the church. Thinking back i cant believe i thought that. And i will never think that about anyone ever again! Then the missionaries came over and asked me if i would consider befriending her.... ha really weird question what are you going to say.... NO? haha . So, the next day at school i went up to her and invited her to the YW activity. We went to Lava and i think she had a really good time. Then i was asked to go to the lessons. At that time i was really busy and had no time to do anything. But i figured the Lord was trying to answer my prayers so i better do it. So i went and i LOVE THEM! They are so amazing! I love going to the discussions with Sarah. Not to mention how much my love has grown for her. Its amazing how when you serve someone you create this Christ- like love for that person. I care about her so much. Then, we planned a trip to go up to the Temple with the Elders, and after many attempts to find a time... we finally did it! We were going to go to the visitors center and watch the Joseph Smith movie. The VC is totally different now! Everything is new, and touch screen. Not to mention the statue of Christ. I think she had a good experience. We really enjoyed looking at all the temples. And trying to figure out which one is the best. Then we watched the movie and it had a totally different meaning to me.It made me realize how lucky i am. I cant even try to imagine what life is like with out having the gospel. I was extremely lucky to be born into a family of good parents and brothers and sisters which are amazing examples to me. I felt so much gratitude. Overall it was an experience i will never forget. The feeling that i had. The thought that came to my mind. That this is why we are here. We are here to bring in the lost sheep .... bring them back to the fold. Im so lucky i was chosen to go threw this experience with Sara. I love it! I love going to the lessons and will continue going to them. It makes me really want to go out and serve a mission. But with my luck i would be called to go to Japan.

Lizzy & Ali

So last summer I was a part time nanny. The girl i watched was Alison. It was amazing we connected immediately! She loves animals, history, AMERICAN GIRLS, and animal planet! I mean it was meant to be. Well Alison is a very shy and cautious girl. Her father struggled with horrible cancer for a long time and passed away a couple of years ago. I really wanted to do something that would bring her out of her shell. But b4 i new it the summer was over and I had to go back to school. Then her mom called me and asked me if i could watch her on valentines day. I WAS STOKED! When I arrived at the house ( side not really cute... so her mom was going on a date .... it was like the 1st one in a really long time. She was all dressed up cute and was so nervous. She kept asking me if it was too much make up, is my hair okay, this jacket or this one, or maybe i should wear a skirt.... it was cute) Anyways i found Ali in her bedroom reading...shocker! But this time i had something up my sleeve. You see Ali is a really Conservative girl. She doesn't really dress up. her hair is always simply pulled back and shes always sports the timeless blue jeans & t-shirt look. So what is it that i did that was awesome? I brought a fun basket. Full of candy, Flowers,buttons,nail polish, hot sticks, music! We were going to have an 80's night! Well she wanted to have a Egyptian 80's night so ya we did it!I put her hair in the hot stick and did her makeup like an Egyptian. I was so excited to take out her hair and give her " big hair" . We did nails and put gems on the, ate candy, made flower hair clips, and danced. I couldn't believe it she was comeing out of her shell! Then came the moment of truth! I took out the hot sticks and almost passed out! Her gorgeous red hair was in perfect curls all around her head. ( at this point i was mad i made her make up so crazy. She wanted it up, so we put it up and she was SO beautiful! She doesn't believe it but anyone would kill to have her looks.Then with the touch of a flower she decided to go all out. She put on a formal and sparkle shoes and we took photos. Then she wanted to go get ice cream in her gown ( totally not Ali ) So we did, but not with out her coat ( or mink shawl) . And then we went to Walgreen's so she could strut her stuff at 11:30 = ) Well the night came to an end and what do you do at midnight when the girl you are babysitting should go to bed? You make you tube videos of course! Ha check it out i think we made like 3. Well there you go. Just thought i would tell you my amazing valentines night. No boys, no adults...... just 2 immature girls wanting to have fun!

New Hair!!!

Ok.... so i finally did it! I CUT MY HAIR! I was trying to grow it out but i got so sick of doing it every morning so i decited randomly that i wanted to cut my hair..... SHORT! I got it in a bob. I also tried hightlights.... I never knew how much they added to your hair! Thanks Teresa!

DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA

This year at state i really wanted to do a humor piece. So i thought to myself whats better that than the old SNL skit Hyper - Hypo?!? It took a lot of work and a lot of help but we felt we had it good enough. We got 2nd at districts but state is a different story. We were competing against 32 other groups that were really good! I didnt think we made it to semi- finals mostly because we screwed up our 1st round and the judge looked angry the whole time. But we made it! And then WE MADE IT TO FINALS!!! i was so excited but really nervous! I didnt think we were good enough. Our final round was in one word AMAZING!! the crowd of over 60 people never stopped laughing! We knew we placed but didnt know what ranking. Then the judge called out our name and i went skipping across the stage to receive our 3rd place metals. I was SO SO SO SO excited i finally proved myself to other people in drama and so forth. We were competing against some other people in our school and they didnt place. It was hard not to be over ecstatic but we still made peace with the other teams. The people that got 1st cheated and got away with it. And the people that got 2nd ..... annoying. So im wondering what went though the judges heads but hey we placed!
Our school placed third too! we always get 1st at districts but hardly ever place a t state. This year we got a new teacher so we worked our hardest and made him proud. The best part about winning this year was that the trophy we had wasn't docs.... but it was ours.

Sophie's 2nd year

So im not a person that really believes in giving your dog a birthday party. Partly because they really dont care. But i do think its fun to give them a treat or let them go off and play with all their friends. BUT we were at the cabin and you know that everyone celebrates at the cabin! When i put the cake in front of her and told her to leave it, she felt like it was pure tourcher and whined all about it. finally she dug in. but she was polite and only at half =) it was a carrot peanutbutter cate with creamcheese frosting.Its hard to think that it was 3 years ago that i brought home a little Auborouzer puppie.

Giving Thanks

Long time no posts so ill try to catch up. For Thanksgiving the family went down to Arizona to go to the cabin and visit grandma. I never liked the 16 hour drive because i get really car sick, and my long legs need to be stretched! Sophie went with us. And for the 1st time she had car sickness. No messes to clean up though. I was really tired when we started to travel because i just got done with drama districts where i placed 2nd. Finally we got to the cabin. For some reason the cabin had always been scary to me and mariams little clown prank didnt make it any better. Im fine when its daytime but at night my heart beats fast. to say the least sophie who is never allowed to sleep in my bed at home was next to me every single night. Going to vist grandma was kinda like hitting a wall. Her memory was really bad by the time she left Idaho but i didnt know how bad it got. She was empty inside. I dont know how to describe it but her eyes had nothing in them. No.... nothing.
She lost a lot of weight and hadno recation to us or sophie.It was really hard. At my last visit she told me that she was helping grandma. And she was going to come. WOW she acctully said something it was better sweet of course. It was her best day. ( and we told her if grandma comes you go with her) It was kinda amazing what was there and what wasnt. She didnt like it if people were crying. It bothered her a lot. It showed that she was slightly still there. But it was hard to see her like that.
